I know it can be intimidating to start from scratch with a new subject. Often people feel that art is something only other people can do. But that is not the case. Everyone can make art, successfully, beautifully, and joyfully.

My expertise is in helping people to find and develop their own art practice and to learn the confidence to enjoy their work. Making art, whether drawing, painting, 3D or installation, is mostly a matter of learning to look, and learning to have the confidence to try things out, to drop the fear that the work will be judged and understanding that it is by trying that we learn. Early steps, however they come, are not failures, they are early steps that lead us along a path.

I teach art as a practice and it is in being a practice that we find the value. We work at art not because we want to achieve a preconceived end result (a particular kind of pretty picture perhaps) but because spending the time doing it has value. I will teach and you will learn as your practice grows and pleasing end results (beautiful pictures) will be a happy by-product of this valuable process.

We are a friendly, varied group, we share our work when we feel happy about sharing it. I would love to see you there!
